Wound healing in healthy volunteers

Deep phenotype novel disease characteristics and biomarkers.

The complex pathophysiology of wound healing requires a novel, method-rich and integrated approach. Therefore, multidimensional profiling of diseases by means of systems pharmacology / dermatology is necessary. Over the recent year CHDR-LACDR-LUMC-Erasmus MC have developed a comprehensive methodology to phenotype patients in various dimensions including molecular and cellular information from the skin tissue, the cutaneous microbiome, clinical assessments from the physician and patient-reported outcomes. Aim of the project is the multidimensional profiling of the skin for the purpose of I) getting better mechanistic understanding of disease and II) to identify and characterize biomarkers for clinical research.

To characterize the wound healing model in healthy volunteers several domains will be investigated.
